Outer Space and Blogging!

Anousheh Ansari, the first lady space tourist landed back on earth a few hours earlier. The Russian Soyuz capsule touched down in Kazakhstan. She may have come back to earth but her blog is making waves across the blogosphere as thousands log onto the net to read a layperson's perspective of space.

At least eight other astronauts have kept online diaries recording their stay at the space station, but they weren't traditional blogs since readers could not post responses, as they have on Ansari's blog.

With a 10 day round trip to the International Space Station costing $20 million, I am sure it won't be the last blog from outer space.

However, Virgin Atlantic Chief Richard Branson is offering $200,000 tickets for a 2½ hour sub-orbital flight during which passengers will experience zero-gravity. Virgin Galactic’s first passenger flight is slated for 2008. It is reported that 200 people have already signed up for a trip on Virgin Galactic and 65 thousand more have registered as potential passengers. Wonder if these space flights will allow mobiles and laptops to be used during the flight?
